C&C Drum Co. is a small, independent company based in Gladstone, Missouri. We are comprised of musicians and craftsmen who share a common bond, the love of music. This bond connects us to our drums and the people who play them. We’ve never tried to be the flavor of the moment or cater to the latest whim. Our goal has always been to build something of lasting value. We are dedicated to making the best drums we possibly can—drums that will outlive us to become a legacy.

HOWARD GRIMES

All of us at C & C mourn the passing of drumming great, Howard Grimes.
August 22, 1941 - February 12, 2022
The laundry list of soul/blues luminaries for whom Grimes played reads like a Who’s Who of Memphis celebrities: Rufus Thomas, Carla Thomas, William Bell, Marvin Gaye, Bo Diddley, Willie Mitchell, Ann Peebles, Al Green, Syl Johnson, Denise LaSalle, Otis Clay, Slim Harpo, Robert Cray, O.V. Wright, and many others.
Howard Grimes learned his craft by frequenting clubs as a boy in his native Memphis. Nicknamed "The Bulldog" for his tenacity behind the kit, Grimes' career stretched across six decades. A key figure in the early years at Stax Records, he made his lasting legacy as a member of the famed Hi Rhythm section. In the last twenty years, he was the drummer for the soul/jazz group, the Bo-Keys.
